Q: How do I view someone's gift list?

A: You need to be invited to view a person's gift list. A person may invite you via email, providing you with their email address and gift list password to use. When you enter their email and password in the login section of the hint hint homepage, you will be able to view their gift list.

Q: Can I create a gift list for my children?

A: Yes! You can do this by either:

Using your registration (your email and password you have registered) and then creating another gift list title for you child eg "Zoe's Gift List". The people you invite to view your child's gift list will use your email and password to login and will also be able to see any other gift lists you have set up under that registration.

OR

Register your child on hint hint using their own (or another) email and password. This will enable a gift list to be created that is completely separate to your own.

Q: Can I put an item on my gift list that is from a retail outlet or that I know cannot be bought online?

A: Yes! To help viewers of your gift list purchase items such as this, you may like to note this fact along with the store where the item can be purchased in the "Notes" section when adding the gift item to your list. Also, using the gift category of "N/A" will prevent viewers of your gift list from being shown online suppliers.

Q: What if I can't find a gift list item in the online stores shown on hint hint?

A: Whilst we endeavour to provide you with a range of suppliers for a gift category, we cannot guarantee that the gift item will be in stock. Some gift items listed may not be available for purchase online and you may need to visit a retail outlet - it depends on the item listed.

Q: Why do I have to add a gift category for each item I put on my gift list?

A: The gift category is what hint hint uses to determine which suppliers to show the viewers of your gift list for a particular gift item. For example if your gift item is perfume, then you would choose the category "Skincare/Beauty/Hair".

If you do not add a gift category that reflects the gift item you have added, then viewers will not see online retailers where they can purchase the gift item. For example if your gift item was a magazine subscription and you chose the "CD/DVD/Entertainment" category then viewers would be shown online retailers for CD's and DVD's which does not help them purchase a magazine subscription or you.

If you do not add a category at all, then viewers of your gift list will not be shown any online retailers where they can purchase your gift item.

Q: How long will it take for a gift item I purchase to be sent to the recipient or to me?

A: Each online retailer's delivery terms are different. You will need to check the terms, conditions and delivery methods of the online retailer you are transacting with.

Q: Can I shop for myself on hint hint?

A: Yes! Just use the "Supplier Listing" or "Shop by Category" links on the left side of the home page and you can browse online retailers and purchase too. Quick and easy shopping!
